I could not put this down! Now I did go into this thinking it was a thriller novel, because thats the category I found it in. I soon found out it was more of just a emotional fiction kinda thing but I absolutely loved it. 

I loved the characters and the depth of the story. I read a few reviews saying that it was too drawn out, but I have to disagree, I think Fisher has a brilliant way of making things flow eloquently. I loved Caro and her layer of plot that she brought, and I loved how her story paralleled to Vicky's. I think Vicky was frustrating sometimes, but I guess that was the vibe that Fisher was going for. 

I felt all the range of emotions reading this book: sadness (I did cry), joy, frustration, rage, hope, love. And that is due to the beautiful writing. The only letdown for me is that it ended too quickly! Slight spoiler but I would have loved to see Freddy's reaction to everything and was actually disappointed that it wasn't included. 

I will definitely be reading more from this author!

Kerry Fisher is the bestselling author of five novels, including The Silent Wife and The Secret Child. She was born in Peterborough, studied French and Italian at the University of Bath and spent several years living in Spain, Italy and Corsica. After returning to England to work as a journalist, she eventually abandoned real life stories for the secrets of fictional families. She now lives in Surrey with her husband, two teenage children and a naughty Lab/Schnauzer called Poppy.

I managed to read this book very quickly, and could not put it down. I absolutely loved the writing style, and I appreciated the third person style. There weren't any parts where I had felt the book dragged, which I feel happens while reading some books of a similar nature. The pace was also great, it was gradually built up till the end.   The actual story telling, I found very interesting. If you love crime-solving type stories, this book is for you. There is a real progression, and insight of how the detectives worked through the investigation, it felt very realistic. And the small twists and turns in the plot kept it all very interesting...

'Codename Villanelle' by Like Jennings

     After watching the thrilling series of Killing Eve on the BBC, I was very excited when I received a free copy through netgalley in exchange for a review. The show drew me in with the out-rightness of it all, leaving me with high hopes for the book. And I was not disappointed. The book portrays the same exciting cat-mouse-chase of the show, with added plot lines and more mystery. I absolutely love the character of Villanelle, yes she may be a psychopathological series killer, but the depth to her character and the details that Jennings reveals about her are fascinating. Eve is equally mesmerising as she seems to go through this journey of finding her killer, while also in a way discerning her own character throughout. This is quite an explicit novel, something that I wouldn't normally go for, so at times I did feel a little uncomfortable. But I still really enjoyed it!

   PETITION FOR THIS BOOK TO BECOME A MOVIE I really enjoyed reading this book. I did think it was a little slow in the beginning, but it was definitely worth it. It's the kind of story that you think is gonna be very predictable, but the ending had me shocked. I would love to see this in a film, I can imagine some of the scenes playing out, and since this book has quite a strong visual/metaphor running through it, I know it would keep an audience in suspense. Love it! Highly recommend.
