‘The summer job’ by Lizzie Dent

Rating 3.5  Very cute, easy holiday read! Loved the setting of a fancy hotel in Scotland surrounded by woods and a cute little cottage. The story was a little predictable but still very enjoyable, I definitely got hooked. Birdy did annoy me a little but I liked the ending!

'The chalet' By Catherine Cooper

Taking place in the  French Alps in 1998, two brothers are skiing with their girlfriends and one ends up dead.  The story jumps from the 1998 to the present and told from different characters view, which was a little confusing at first, but Cooper did a good job to keep everything clear enough. With plenty of twists and turns throughout this book definitely keeps you hooked.

'How to disappear' by Gillian McAllister

Rating 4.5  Zara and her mum are forced into witness protection, leaving behind their family when her persona of Girl A falls through on a murder case. This book is full of twists and turns, not only giving us suspense but a deep insight into the emotional bond between a parent and child, whereby you'd do anything to help them. This is my second Gillian McAllister book and I am still obsessed with her books! I can't wait for her next one to come along.

'Her secret son' by Hannah Mary McKinnon

Rating: 4 stars I inhaled this book in less than a day. Normally books with this genre can be quite slow at the start and it takes a while for it to be interesting, but I loved this right from the beginning. The author uses beautiful writing, moving me to tears in mourning, and makes you feel all the feelings of the characters right through. I did like the plot, I think it wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be, though at times there was a little touch of things being a little far fetched. Very much enjoyed though!

'The vow' by Debbie Howells

Rating: 4 stars What an interesting read! I was excited to read this book as it seemed like something I hadn't really heard of before. It definitely kept me interested through all the twists of the plot. I liked the depth of the story, and the existence of Fiona's story really adds another element to the story. Recommend!

'Just like the other girls' by Claire Douglas

Rating 4 stars I have enjoyed Douglas' work in the past, so I was excited to bite into this one, and I have to say I wasn't disappointed. There were so many twists and turns, every time I thought I knew what was happening, it turned out I was wrong. And Douglas' writing is so great, it really makes you feel what the character is going through and all the goings on rather gets to you. Highly recommend!
